IMO there is no question that we will see a high MP full frame DSLR from Canon soon (I always said this in the last few months). Question is just in which version it will come first - as additional 1D series model or as addition to the 5D series, or something in the middle between 5D and 1D classes? Nobody knows yet. But things are heating up I guess.

I personally wouldn't have problems with this. But it is too early to know all the details in the specs yet.We can only speculate about DR at the moment.

Eye controlled AF would be lovely, but somehow I doubt that we will see it in any of the upcoming Canon camera releases.

. I don't care so much about the name, but I am glad that Canon finally steps up in coming out with a better sensor. As I also said, we will see 5D III prices dropping sharply very soon, too.....

DR is important, but I am fine with the current development there. Improvement there would be great, but I am not expecting a huge step up in this regard yet.

Good question. I have no clue why this technology has died and never made it back in so far.

If there is no improvement in the shadow noise, adc chip, DR, more megapixels by itself will be disappointing.

7DII, a high end crop camera
6D, an entry level FF camera
3DX, a high megapixel camera

Uhm. How about ... none of the above

I think 6D and 3Dx (whatever they might be called later) are likely (6D, the entry level for sure).

Hopefully not... it would be a waste of money and resources for something that Canon could never get to work properly - which is probably why they abandoned the idea.

You don't have to use ECF as the other standard AF modes are still there. It's merely an additional AF mode for those whom are joystick challenged.

I would max out my plastic for an EOS with ECF. The last new camera with ECF was the 2004 Elan 7NE. ECF in that model was pretty much a 100% hit rate for me. The 1998 EOS 3, not so much.

There was never any real doubt that Canon would have to produce higher MP cameras, especially in the full-frame arena, given what other companies are doing.
