I am having a slight issue with the camera. The autofocus just hunts around on it's own sometimes for no reason. I can move it with the controller but when I get ready to shoot, it will start hunting. Any ideas?
I shoot in Ap Priority Auto with my D3s and this does not happen. Shooting in Ap Priority should have zero affect on the focus point hunting around. A run down of settings...
1. Continuous High
2. Autofocus - short
3. Matrix
4. Single Point Focus
4. Down to 11 point now.
I was putting the camera to my face and wonder if I need to possibly change how I hold it compared to my D3s? Maybe I am face planting the toggle while holding it. Because now that I am paying attention to that....it isn't doing it. sometimes you gotta cave man it.
I'm a left eye shooter and there have been plenty of times I've looked into the viewfinder of my D300 to see the selected focus point racing across the screen

Put it AF-C 9 or 21 pt....you've got some Auto crap dialed in, most likely.
