I have "Buy & Sell" forum privileges so I am not asking this here to avoid paying for that privilege.
I have a Nikon 70-200 f2.8 AFS-VR lens - the first version. It's over 5 yrs old - which is a moot point because the 5 yr warranty is not transferable. It is a USA lens - bought from B&H Photo and I am the original owner.
It is in mint condition. Not a scratch on the hood, lens, or glass. It's very clean. Of course I have the box it came in and the NIkon supplied case that's never been used. I also have a LowePro case for the lens.
What's this lens worth in such great shape. I took a look on the B&S board but seldom do you see one of these lenses for sale in such good condition. So, what should I ask for it?
Selling because I got out of photography and sold all my Nikon gear here on the FM B&S board a few months ago.
This lens is the last item I have to sell - very sharp copy and was my favorite Nikon lens on a D300!

Well I have a pristine copy that's still on warranty and been asking $1400 on the B&S forum. Had only 1 enquirey about it while all my other Nikon gear went fast (24-70, D300, etc.) so not sure what price they are truely going for now.

I last paid $1100 for a mint one with case and caps but no box. Check completed listings on Ebay too - often worth paying the Ebay fees since folks bid things up higher there. I've had great luck buying on CL and selling on Ebay.

I just picked up a 70-200 2.8 vr, sb800 and a 17-55 2.8 for 2100 can. So for the price the sb800 and 17-55 is going for prob around 900 to 1000 i paid. But i did get a good deal

I picked up one here a few months back for $1350 that was in pristine condition like you mentioned. It looks like still in the same area, between $1350 and $1450 tops.
