Vivitar 100-300 f5 @ f8 with Canon 250D close-up lens, forgive possible duplication as this photo and the 1 following ended up on the wrong Nikon forum; my apologies.
Very fine photos. Using MF glass with the D40 takes some chops since you're contending with a relatively small viewfinder and without metering by the camera. Excellent work. Welcome to FM.
Curtis (CGrindahl) is moderating the most active thread in Nikon forum, the manual focus nikon glass. It's for showing pictures taken using nikon manual focus lenses and how to deal with MFAS and how to spend your money Very fun and informative thread. Beautiful shots like yours.
Thanks to fsagian, DaveOls and eceidi for your comments. Yes, I am pleased with the performance of the Vivitar lens, it's close-focusing abilities are also excellent. It's a fairly hefty and long lens as well but as I only paid $20 Canadian for it in mint condition I won't complain too loudly. I see though, that I've been taken to task by another forum member for posting these photos here. In my ignorance I wasn't aware that exclusively Nikon brand manual focus lenses were to be used here so in future I will not post any photos taken with 3rd party lenses. My apologies.
