It was suggested via PM that I remove the strings. I agree totally, but I thought if I removed them, the crust on the chicken would tear. Any tips on how to accomplish this without ruining the aesthetic quality of the shot?
Yeah, maybe the strings should be removed, but I don't mind them. This certainly looks like something I would eat, and very nicely presented here Greg.

Greg - I am a vegetarian and I would eat them J/K of course. Nice presentation - the strings dont bother me - try toothpicks from the blind side next time.

A vegetarian? In Texas? ...good for you! I've tried it but just can't give up the meat and fish, although I know I'd probably live longer if I did. I do try to limit red meat...if that means anything, but chicken is king in my house and this shot is just one of the many recipes we've been trying...
1 piece of feedback I could offer is to maybe also do a full plate shot. The food photography I admire always has the full plate (and then maybe some extra close-ups where appropriate)
