Just got an offer to shoot a race at Infineon. I'm trying to find some info about where media is allowed at on track so i can pick a lens to rent. I was going to post on Sportsshooter.com but they require a sponsorship by a current senior member and as far as i know I do not personally know anyone who is a member.
So does anyone have a map of the track with media access marked?

What about someone who does not have media credentials, are there opportunities to get decent shots of the INDY car race with 500mm or 300mm primes? Which would be better? Thanks in advance.

For those of you who will be coming to this weekends Izod Indy Car Race who do not have credentials and want to get some great action shots. Sonoma Raceway has a multitude of areas for good images. What you need for glass is anywhere from 300 mm to 500mm as a 600 mm would just wear you out. You can shoot in turns 2,5,6,8,9 and at the end of the back straight heading into turn 11 which has been changed for this event. Allso remember to bring some short focal lengths for that portrait. Have a great time and lets see some photos from the races.
