This would look odd without the empty space to his left, so I wouldn't re-crop. A slightly darker background might have improved the overall look.

I think it is a great shot as it is. I like the way he looks into the shot as if he was just centered but then turned away before the shot. I think the shot needs the space to the right.

Bob- I really like this.
Even the placement of the man within the frame works fine for me (huzzah!)

Considering Cary's intentional "grizzled look," I'm a bit surprised by his comb-over.
Oh well; there's a bit of vanity in us all.
