As far as I know there haven't been any specifics released, but I'm checking to be sure. I'm particularly interested in distortion, especially at 70mm. I presume it's going to be terrific for sharpness, contrast, etc.
Anyone know something I don't?

Sorry Im not allowed. We had a dealer day and they had one there. But as it was a "pre production" they asked that nothing got posted. Ive just printed a 30x20 inch print and its awesome though! Thats coming from the best Canon primes and the best Zeiss has to offer. You will love it. :-)
I gave up waiting and got a Tamron 24 70 VC and the time to return it just passed. I have been really worried that I will regret it big time when this lens finally hits.
I've become used to the sharpness of primes for my wedding work. Even at f1.8 my primes are very sharp in the centre and pretty sharp at the edges. I run my current 24-70 at f2.8 for the vast majority of it's life .. and it just doesn't impress that much, compared to the primes Even at f5.6 it's only "OK".
I don't love the look of the 24-70 2.8 range if I'm honest (I prefer the look of primes) but for a wedding ceremony it's a good all round lens..

Were these at f2.8 ... or...??
The MTF charts look incredible compared with the old lens!
