This one's kind of growing on my (no pun intented).
The shaft has an apparent clean arch and the blade is a "statement"
I sort of agree w/Mike about the shafts continuance.
Rather than an abrupt ending, perhaps a sort of fade to black?

I think I like your original better. Maybe if your fade was longer into the darkness? None the less, I like what you have captured here. Good eye as usual!
