My youngest turned 3 today. I managed a few shots - trying to capture the emotion. Not sure they are up to the standards on here, but its good to share eh?
Nice set Adam, looks like a good birthday. They're up to standards and thanks for sharing. Favorites include 5 and 8, but not sure if you wanted critique.

Cool, here are some quick thoughts.
2 - I'd like a little more depth of field to better include mom
3 - Maybe try swapping b and c? It would probably tell the story better, depending on your adherence to PJ
4 - I'd like to see this from the other side, with your boy's face being the main subject
5 - Nice portrait
6 - good effort Mom
8 - I like the negative space and the shadows on the wall
9 - cool processing

Thanks. All good stuff. On 4 I was intending to do from the other side but It all happened too quickly. I went to turn the light off and as I turned round they were about to blow out the candles. I only just got the shot. I asked for a retake but the moment had gone.
I see what you mean on 2. They are in the order they were taken though.
1-4 are lit by overhead ceiling light (5 x energy light bulbs). It's winter here and it was still dark when we got up!
5 is natural light and I love the light that area of the house gets in the morning. I have several shots taken in this area over the years and they have been on here in the past.
I have a couple more from this shoot which I'll share later.
