p.1 #1 · Question on Nikon 24-120 F4 lens

All,

Just picked up a D800 and 24-120 lens (both new) after many years in the Canon camp. I was expecting that lens should have a gold ring in the front but when I opened it, to my eyes it looks more off-white. Could be the lighting and reflections but should I be worried with this? I would appreciate if someone that has the lens can tell me if the ring appears to be the same color as the markings on the top.
