Hey everyone! I've really been trying to get better at this fitness stuff. I decided to shoot on the beach in Cardiff, CA for this one. To my surprise I got a lot sandier than I thought lol I think I got a couple good shots out of it though although a could be improved on for next time. Let me know what you think!
This isnt much of a consistent series but I wasn't really going for that. Wanted to try out different looks, styles, and emotions instead. Anyway looking forward to hearing what you have to say and how I can improve!
Good stuff. My daughter's a distance runner and I know how hard it is to get action shots that look decent. #3 FTW! IMHO #1 and #7 are the weakest of the bunch, not that I could do any better. Overall, a great job of capturing the life of a runner; stretching, sweating, running tunes and earbuds. I just keep going back to #3.
Good series, great looking lady, nice location. The left leg looks like a prosthetic limb in #1 - don't know the origin of that appearance, or whether that is the intent.
Damn, these are good! Love the variety you have in this set.
#1 Love the composition and the timing (foot just about to land). Great camera angle and use of a leading line.
#2 Again the composition is well chosen. Nice capture of the muscle stretch.
#3 Motion blur, great camera perspective.
#4 Another typical fitness scene.
#5 After the run. Sweat dripping on the chin. Wow.
#6 Perfect pose. Look how boldly she is shown against the background. Another Wow.
#7 I don't like the arm positions in this one. I'd probably love it if it was alone, but with all these other good ones .....
#8 Again really nice. When I study this for a while I get a bit of a posed feeling. Such a minor nit, though.
#9, #10 & #11. Great shots.
Can this man take a bad shot?
Give your model my compliments for a great job too.
Robert mentioned the tilt of the horizons. I found the model was so much the star of each frame - standing out so strongly against each carefully chosen background - that the backgrounds became secondary and whether they had a tilt or not didn't register with me at all.
In my opinion, the model needs to be the star, the one place I am immediately attracted too. The backgrounds are something that are "just there" - not interfering or distracting. Adding to the shot, but not taking away. I think you did that in each shot.
