I have been waiting patiently for the storms to arrive and yesterday was the day. I didnt have too much luck with getting strikes though. It seemed every time I faced the camera one way the bolt happened in the other direction or when the shutter finished its cycle the bolts came a flying. Below are two images I thought worth sharing.

The storm arrived with a wicked fury. This billow reminded me of a sail on a boat the way it was pushing forward. When it arrived the sand came with it, so I was consumed in a sandstorm and forced to leave my vantage point.

Thanks for the comments.... Shelter?? I can't say I was all that protected when shooting. the Only thing I have going for me is I am not the tallest thing out there. The lightning shot was from my friend's backyard, so I was only a couple steps away from shelter.

T for terrific! I like the smooth curve and feeling of movement of that cloud in the first image. That's not a terrible (not T for terrible!) lightning shot and the lawn lights add some foreground interest.
