Maybe they are out of stock and have not updated inventory fast enough? Although that would not explain why your pre-order from yesterday does not have a delivery estimate.
Mine shows this both in my e-mail confirmation and my Amazon Order History:
I was in a local shop (90 mile drive, one way) yesterday, their website reported them in and I hadn't gotten anything from Amazon (until last night) so I drove over hoping to pick one up. They'd gotten 17 in the day before, and they were all gone, and I was told they had 7 backordered.
They were nice enough to let me fool around with one of the the 5D3's they had in stock for an hour.
As of this message posting, the following stores seem to have the D800 in stock. Surprise... Walmart and Target are in that list.
