p.1 #1 · D7000 & D3200 wifi directly to iPhone/iPad
How can I shoot on either D7000 or D3200 and send the images instantly to iPhone or iPad nearby. I thought Nikon Wifi > WU-1a wireless adopter by Nikon works only with Androids and I am not sure Eye-Fi cards can do that either. Any experiences?
Thanx.

U're right D7000 is not compatible with WU-1a. Eye-Fi Pro can do but seems like lotsa glitches, also have to be near a hot spot, so landscape, wildlife photographer is not benefited. Also can transfer only JPG with Eye-Fi.
But thanks for reply, appreciate it.

I've been looking at the Eye-Fi cards for my son. Aren't the Eye-Fi cards with "Direct Mode" capable of streaming to a phone/ipad without a hotspot? They set up their own server in the card.
Am I missing something? Curious to hear from others...

I have a d7000 with an eye-fi card in the 2nd card slot, I shoot raw+jpg. You dont need a wi-fi to transfer to a device with direct mode, the card will act as wireless router, you have to connect the device (ipad, iphone, etc) to the card. The reach of the card for direct mode is not that great, it needs to be close to the card. They have fixed a number of glitches with the ipad app and it is working fine now. It cannot transfer raw files, I dont think you can view them on ios anyway. I have used mine for almost a year now and it is still running fine.

Completely agree with everything maj0rglitch said. I run an Eye Fi in the 2nd slot of my D7000 and transfer the jpg files to my iPad. Used to be real glitchy but most of the bugs have been worked out.
