The amount of detail shown in a butterfly eye is a pretty good indication of lens performance. This looks pretty good.

These were taken with a Canon 250D close up lens attached to my Fujifilm X10.

These are sweet. How far away are you? Are these heavily cropped? Very intrigued by this alternative to a DSLR. My first digital camera in 2002 was a Fuji Finepix, might need to take a look at their lineup again.

Let me say that I've always preached that much of how well a camera performs rests in the eyes and hands of the artist. rattymouse you are doing a fine job.
