Assuming your PC and MAC are connected to the same router, I'd just plug the drive into one of them, e.g. the PC, then go to Windows Explorer, find the root directory of the drive, right mouse click and there will be an option "Share with..." or "Properties" which has a 'Sharing' tab. What you do is give it a sharename, make it available to all users, then from the MAC, make a network connection (with erm..FINDER I think it is?) to your PC's network name and sharename e.g. \\mypc\myshare

I use a RAID box that has a 1GB Ethernet port and it is plugged into my router. I can access all the files from any computer whether wired into the hub or with wireless. For moving lots of large files you cannot beat a 1GB Ethernet pipe.
With the RAID NAS box holding my files except the ones I am actively working on there is much less of a problem of having different versions on different computers. With the 1GB Ethernet connection I can pull files into Photoshop and work on them and then save them with no performance lag. When I used a slower NAS box and 100MB Ethernet I needed to move a batch of files to the computer and work on them and then copy them back to the NAS.
