p.1 #1 · Can Canon or Nikon TTL Cords be used with Olympus cameras
Having a lot of trouble finding a "long TTL cord" for my Olympus cameras, I have found many of them for Canon & Nikons. Some folks say they work with olympus! supposedly the extra pin does nothing? I have no Idea about any of this, has anyone here had experience with this conversion, ...or do you know of a company selling a longer TTL cord for Olympus.

Every camera manufacturer has its own standards for assignment of the functions associated with each pin of the flash cable, and even their locations, and virtually NONE of them are interchangeable with different brands of cameras.

To the best of my knowledge, Canon and Olympus have the same pin positions, except that Canon has one more pin than Olympus.
The pin assignments may be different, but as long as you have the same brand of camera and flash at each end of the cable, the cable brand wouldn't matter as long as the contacts are in the right places.

At the moment, Lon only lists a 3-foot Olympus cord on the Flash Zebra site. He has Canon cords in 3-, 16, and 24-foot versions. Since the OP specified a "long" cord, I assume that a 3-footer isn't long enough.
