I know some people say it works ok (AF-C) but it really isn't up to the standard of a DSLR. But still you can get some shots which is better than nothing.

Wow. That's really all that needs be said.
Thanks Jordan! This was my 3rd visit to the Venice Mask Carnival and I have to say that, in spite of the quirky nature of the OM-D, I have a lot more keepers than I did with my 5D II from the previous 2 years. I was able to nail focus more accurately and consistently with the OM-D. My only regret was not having a 2nd body, as changing lenses was a royal pain in the butt when you are having to act/move quickly.
Bobby, those are unreal. That first one of the second set is just brilliant. It really is just absolute perfection. Impeccable composition and execution. Now I need to make a note to get over there to shoot this!
I do ... but it would be inappropriate for me to post them. Most of them are French, but I have met Italian, German, Belgian, and British "costumées" as they often referred to. I did a private shoot with 3 of them this year, and 1 of them I spent 5 hours with.

Nice shots...do you have her picture without the mask ? .
One of them was arranged months earlier by me. I met her 2 years ago, did a gondola shoot with her last year, and this time around we arranged a 5-hour shoot with her, from 7am to 12pm. With the other 2 one of my friends already happen to already know them, so when we ran into them again this year, we asked if they would do a private shoot with us and they said Yes. No, we don't pay them, but we have to give them digital files of our best images, of course. If you don't get to know them they will not agree to a private shoot with you. They have to be comfortable with you and know you to be a good or above-average photographer, as they don't want to be wasting their time with average and unknown photographers, or if they are not totally comfortable with you.
Language can be a real problem, so I shy away from those who don't speak any English, but one of my friends speak fluent French while another speaks fluent German and some Italian, which helps a great deal - as there are a lot of European photographers who have the advantage when it comes to communication, over strictly English-speaking photographers. But you can still get to shoot a ton of them for free - there is really no need to do any private shoots - but you will just have to fight and elbow your way through these paparazzi-like photographers!

Did you pre-arrange the private shoots, or did you just go up to them and ask if you could shoot them? Did you pay them for modeling?
Bobby the second set is superb. I know what you mean about having two bodies and I think it would work very well with the m4/3 being the size they are.
