Hi Linda!
I am having a blast with the OM-D! Luz (whom you met the last time) also got one, and Aravind (digitalbean) is waiting to get his copy too. The only person who steadfastly refuses (snub is a more appropriate word!) to even hear about the OM-D is Joshua. But that's okay as we all have very different needs and wants.
Yes, the m43 sensor has a multiplication factor of 2x ... vs 1.5 or 1.6x for APS-C.
Disappointed to hear there is no Mandarin Duck sighting at the Irvine Regional Park - but thanks for the feedback - as it saves us a trip there. San Joaquin is pretty boring at this time of year. Not too keen on Bolsa Chica either. Where else can we go where there is some good bird activity?
Cheers,
Bobby

Bobby, looks like you have a winner here! After carting the 1D plus large lenses around for years I'm considering a light weight set up. Of course your photog expertise shows through in your equipment, whatever you choose. These are very impressive! Do you know offhand what the length equivilent of 100- 300 mm is to a standard ff dslr? Say compared to a canon dslr with a 400mm on it?
bTW, I checked Irvine Park for the Mandarin just a few days ago and its not there. In fact most of the wood ducks were gone also. I dont know if they migrate.
have fun with your new toy, it looks like the rich colors and quality is a no brainer!
