p.1 #1 · A Couple, Some Fancy Clothes, and a Lake (Formal Session)
Shot this formal session about 2 weeks and just got it posted up. Everything as you can probably see was shot in some harsh and direct son with minimal cover. Everything was lit with an Elinchrom w/ a 39" Deep Octa and I've gotta say, having something with more umpf than speedlights is awfully nice...I just need to ensure I have an assistant on all of my shoots.
On #4, the banding that's grossly apparent wasn't there until I decided to upgrade to LR4 and have it make adjustments...ugh. I'll work on it.

My initial reaction was... are they going to beam up to the mother ship in #4?
I'd say my favorite from these is #1... although if you're going to light them with the quadra I think I'd prefer the ambient to be brought down a bit. I'd look for inspiration from Spencer Boerup if going in this direction.

Thanks everyone...
Shot these with a Style 400BX for reference...and was using TT1/TT5 and had to shoot most of these at 1/8000th as it was BRIGHT and obviously a lot of shots were shot directly into the sun. Relatively low aperture (F/1.6-4ish) and can't remember most of the other settings.
bthatton...do you have a link to Spencer's stuff by chance? And as far as #4, not sure if you read my post but I just switched over to LR4 and applied the new "settings" and ya, didn't do #4 all that well, ha. I need to fix it, clearly.

Yeah, they are totally good looking - couple and images Love the warm, clean tasteful look. One thing, tough: the white halo-ish thing in #4 looks a bit strange and draws (a lot of mine) attention. I think i'd blur it to make the gradient from white to blue more smooth.

Thanks so much all of you! I really need to break out my big strobes more often...
And Joe, thanks for the feedback...as mentioned the horrible halo/banding is from my migration from LR3 to LR4, but I've fixed the image now (just didn't update it).
