Unusual wedding this one. Not only was it at the Royal Military Academy in a chapel that would be better described as a cathedral. Way bigger than most places I shoot, but the bride was Sri Lankan. Interesting mix! To add to the weird, I used to work at the RMA in the Army Medical Directorate as a civvy contractor. It was pretty much my first serious job after leaving school. While working there I split up with my first love and long-term gf. I haven't been back to the RMA since then and coincidentally on the day of this wedding my ex-girlfriend was also getting hitched. Bizzaro.
Anyway, some pictures. These are a collection of my favourites. Here's my self-analysis. Church was ok, but I found the scale of the place a challenge. I shot most of it on the 135L plus a 1.4TC. The big group was a mission. I'd shot the day before and was pretty exhausted and had to really marshall my resources to make this one happen in a reasonable time frame. If I shot it again I'd bring some heavy duty lights for fill, but otherwise I'm fairly happy. The first dance happened without ANY warning. I was told that they were going to finish speeches, have a short coffee break and then dance. As it happened the best man announced the first dance at the end of his speech and they went straight into it. Not cool.
Critique my ass and don't be nice. (Unless you have to!)

This is a terrific set! So many interesting and unique elements. Love the variety in compositions. Very effective use of shadow and light. Lots of favorites but 8 and 43 are standouts for me. Excellent work!

Gorgeous work and brings back many memories as I lived there as a kid and my music teacher was organist in that chapel. Lovely colours, esp for the UK.
