Well, kinda ...sort of...
I used a ewa-marine housing to take pics of my oldest son.

Looks like a fun afternoon! Even in the housing I'd be nervous putting my camera underwater...

Michael,

Great stuff! Luv the last one.
You're brave, even tho EWA Marine is well established, not sure I could dunk my D800.

Great shots, Michael! Did you use a speedlight (or OCF) for this? Which Ewa did you use, and any tips to get shots that nice and clear? I have a trash-the-dress shoot coming up, and want to get some underwater shots like this (without dropping $2K on a rigid housing)!

thanks Glenn, Little Michael has been swimming since the age of 2 and I have been wanting to take pics.. finally able to.
The way I look at it, memories cannot be replaced but a camera body can...

cheeba,
this is the exact housing I used...or more like a pvc bag

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/464106-REG/Ewa_Marine_EM_U_BXP100_U_BXP100_Underwater_Housing.html

I used an sb900, set the camera to aperture, set the aperture to 5.6, iso 400.
Once in the water, forget about changing anything as the housing makes it very difficult. The zoom ring is about the only thing that can be accessed and moved without much difficulty.

I pretty much kept it at 16mm and worked out great.
Tips I got from a buddy that's an underwater photog.

Load the camera into the bag in an airconditioned room.
Add packs of silica inside the housing with the camera (keeps the port from getting condensation)
Once the camera is inside and sealed, keep it out of direct sun, I keep a light colored towel over it. (helps to keep it cool and avoid condensation)

I use anti fog on the inside of the lens port and has worked out great.
That's pretty much it.

Michael, fabulous images, thanks! Appreciate the housing tips, but I'm curious how much processing you incorporated, as the shots are all so tack-sharp! Thanks.

Thanks Birdbrooks,
the only post processing I did was to burn in the edges and slight sharpening.

With the D800 I use very little sharpening, even with 24x36 prints the detail and sharpness is stunning.
I have a large format printer and often print at those sizes and am constantly amazed at the IQ this camera is capable of.
