I'm in Japan for work, and a buddy of mine and I went looking for a used camera shop - I thought since the older batteries were withdrawn in Japan that the D300s/D700 might be cheap here (I'm thinking about picking up a D300s). Thought y'all might like this... (sorry for the poor phone pix)
The place was overwhelming - I have some other pix I'll upload. Saw some cool/rare lenses. Strangely, the D700 prices were relatively low (~$1700) where the D300s was $1000-$1100.

If they can have so many used caneras and lenses on display and for sale, why not here, also? I always thought that it was great to see a lens or camera that I once lusted after for sale in a local store used and at an affordable price.

Because we all sit on our butts here and order online.
There are stores like that in the US, just have to look for them.
