p.1 #1 · #500 Setting of the evening star

Some painters transform the sun into a yellow spot, others transform a yellow spot into the sun.

It does look like a painting. If the take is supposed to reference the earth as home, then it's a unique and creative idea.

Great clouds and color you've captured.

Thanks! I was lucky to come home to a spectacular sunset outside of my apartment. Every time I see a sunset (or sunrise, for that matter) with particularly gripping lighting, I desperately wish I had higher ground from which to snap shots.

For what it's worth, the "evening star" is something of an homage/allusion to one of my favorite Henry David Thoreau quotes: "Only that day dawns to which we are awake. There is more day to dawn. The sun is but a morning star."
