Couldn't decide whether to post this here or in the macro forum, but in the end I figured a salamander isn't really that small. As the last photo shows, these were all taken in the middle of nowhere, using a 5DmkII, Sigma 50mm 2.8 Macro and 2 580ex's with Pocket Wizards.
A neat setup Neil. Your critters look very nice - especially the last two. If possible, I'd roll up the paper instead of folding to avoid wrinkles ~ Ron
The white BG is actually a type of vinyl platic stuff instead of paper, this way when it gets wet it doesn't discolour or get all soggy.
surfnron - i'd love to roll it up, however most of the time i'm under taking very long hikes through stupid thick undergrowth and anything extra to get caught is just a pain.
here's a few more from yesterday. This guy is significantly bigger, at least three time bigger!
