Wow, all stunning shots Ashley. And the harrier shots are magnificent as well. Hope they come back next year but I heard that they usually go down here once every 4 or 5 years.
Thanks!
Yes, you are correct about that, but sometimes the year after an irruption can be a pretty good year for snowies - that 4-7 yr cycle follows a bell curve. So I'm sure next year won't be good like this year was, but it's very possible that we'll have more snowies than a typical non-irruptive year - because the population will still be larger than normal from high reproductive rates last year.

Nice to wait until we had almost forgotten about the amazing irruption of 2011-12! What gorgeous shots you have there. Great light, super poses and oh do those eyes just explode to make these owls just amazing looking birds. So sorry to hear about the HD crash...sorry I made the April Fool's joke when you really had one...hope you get some recovery but at any rate you certainly had some great ones stored elsewhere.
Eric
I supose that was a good strategy, however, it was due to me almost forgetting to post them and realizing it's almost the end of April .
Thanks so much for the kind words! These owls sure make it easy though - they're so beautiful it's hard to get an unattractive shot of one.
No worries about the Apr fools joke - my HD crash was minor. I lost about 30 snowy images and a few other things but not a whole lot, and I'm planning on doing recovery when I can afford it.
Thanks Eric!
