D200 + 80-400 VR + 1.4x TC @ 560mm, ISO 800, 1/400, f8, fill flash (SB910+ Better Beamer)

We had pea soup fog when I arrived at the Oceanside Marine Nature Study Area yesterday morning. I decided to take advantage of the nice soft light, dialed my flash back and started to stalk this tree swallow. It sits on the same branch and I think I�ll be able to get a head shot by the end of the summer.

I like pea soup...just not taking photos in it. I like this shot Morris but wonder what the rectangle on the bird's left cheek and line through the bill might be.
