Found some Indigo Buntings. I believe they were on their way South.
Also the Bluebirds are busy providing food for their newborn, so I decided to makes the color Blue the subject of this post
The last bird is a Gouldian Finch I found recently at the Butterfly Rainforest. Three distinct color variations of this bird. This is a Red-headed one, even if it hasn't really developed the red color completely yet. Other variations include Yellow-headed and Black-headed. An endangered species from Australia.

Great collection of blue, Socrate.
I absolutely love 7 followed by 3 and 2. And then there is the great pose of 1 and nice close up of 5.
But all have great details and colors. Very well done.

Socrate, great blue series and I love especially the 2,3,6,7
And sorry about the endangered one from Australia, yet we don't chase them here to extinction, as far as I know

What a beautiful bird the Indigo is Socrate and you present this bird wonderfully here
Interesting to see the Finch in transition and it must be spectacular in full breeding plummage!
MKIV + 500+1.4TC in the right hands comes off very very very impressive Mr S And the 7D not far behind.
Wonderful color rendition on the Indigo Bunting, really nice overall and cool gray trim around that glossy black eye!
Was going to pick a favorite but geeesh they are all rather wonderful buddy, really nice work Socrate, just beautiful
These bring back memories and one of the reasons I stuck with this forum. I just love your small bird work Socrate. I looked at these and thought "Socrate's birds". Yup that says it all my friend.

Killer shots!! How ever much I love raptors, owls, shorebirds etc., really good songbird shots are still my favorite. Really incredible Indigo shots, they're awesome!! The other shots are stunning as well but I'm not sure I've ever seen Indigo shots this good. Great work!
