Both are excellent Birdie. The area behind the dove's eye looks blurred?? I think it's time you started adding a little fill flash. Not much - maybe 1/16 or 1/32 ~ Ron
Birdie, something is very strange on #1. There is a heavy stippled patterning in the BG and all through the feathers and others look as if there is no detail?? Not sure if you got something messed up on your workflow?? Remember to do NR before you sharpen, never sharpen noise Also since NR can alter the pixels I make color adjustments only after my NR work. I think you have a good shot here that has some odd artifacts from PP work.
Details on the dragon are very nice, maybe a wee bit more saturation into the red-yellows.....overall has a somewhat cool WB to it to me
I know, nit nit nit............that's just me cause I like you
Karl
The first is absolutely stunning!!!
Texture and softness with gentle, calming tones.
Scott
Thank you so very much Scott!
Birdie, The Dove epitomizes the concept of peace. "Soft and Calm", Well done.
Norm
Norm, thank you for the nice words.
SHOCKINGLY AWESOME Roberta!!!!!!!
Conrad, Thank you , greatly appreciated !!
Two spectacular images, Birdie!
It's just that the first is more spectacular .
Charlie
Charlie, your words are far too kind. Thank you!

Ron, greatly appreciated. Will definitely try the flash, although my flash technique needs a lot of work :

Karl, you are so right . I don't know what I did or did not do on the poor dove. I think I must have done the noise reduction after everything else
Keep those nits coming,Karl. I think I am learning something, or at lease I hope so
Will also redo the dragon, but for now here is the redo of the dove.
Two very nice images Roberta. The dragon almost looks like its speaking...pretty cool. Without being too nit-picky (even in the redo...look at the junction of background and top of the bill...(and around the bird's head for that matter)..there is still a noise pattern...I get this all the time but unless it is a real close up it probably isn't as obvious. I bet if you blew this up you would notice it in a second. This is pretty easy to fix if you wanted to.
Eric
Hi Birdie! Something's up with the dove capture. @22' and f4.5 you're lookin' at ~3" in focus with the 300 f4
so even if slightly front focused...the feathers directly under the beak should be crisp/not blurred. Would love to
see the SOOC version.
Thanks guys. I really don't know what happened with the blurr to the left of the eye. I obviously did something, but did not do any post to that area and since it is in both shots, got to figure out what I did !
Really appreciate all of your time to help me.
Eric, don't know how to fix the noise pattern. Will do some googling and see if I can take care of that.
