p.1 #1 · Canada Geese Flying "on" surface of water in light fog
I took to heart Tim Kuhn/Foltz and Tony Markles' critique in a recent post of mine in which they said I possibly was just shooting and not focusing. Well these two geese came cruising up the river in a light early morning fog and I really concentrated and FOCUSED.
Nailed 'em pretty good I think.
Photo 2 ... this same pair of geese landed and immediately got into a territorial dispute with another pair and this is how that went down.
Photo 3: Follow up on a Morris suggestion ... with me Morris, jury is out until I see how it prints ... thanks for suggestion.

II like the second, the first is stunning Paul. A minor nit is the loss of detail in both the highlights and blacks. Did you add a lot of contrast? Fog is tricky to take photos in. For processing I’ve found that some images taken in fog work best with very little contrast while others love contrast. Have you tried a low contrast version? It would be very moody.

Ok ... I printed it and I will go with the Morris version too ... As for cropping ... all I did was crop the reflection of some roots on the far bank off in the Morris version as they were quite distracting. I didn't crop off the front or back or bottom but do intend on cropping on the back side. The first version is cropped as an 8 x 10 ... just enough to get the roots out of the photo. Unfortunately there is not enough image on the bottom and I have to crop the photo too tight I think to get rid of the roots. The final print size will have to be more elongated than an 8 x 10.
I want to thank everyone for their input ...
