Actually, I am not sure you call this soft focus. What do you pros call this "look". I took this last fall and was reprocessing some pics in LR4 (was using LR3), and tried reprocessing this one. I realized that this pic looked better soft. LR4 allowed me to really get this sharp using contrast and all the sliders that I don't fully understand, but I didn't like it as much as this softer one. I think the noise reduction really helped (or hurt it?).
C&C appreciated. Composition? Sharp/Soft? Contrast? Is a Mantis a "bug"?
on #1 the face is OOF and would imo be way better if it was in focus, actually imo the shot is not a keeper which is a shame because it is a great face
I am not sure what if anything is in focus
and I don't think LR4 or any s/w can make it look in focus
I understand the "unsharpness" is intentional Bruce, but for me, it's a rare shot that works this way. I'd like to see it sharp and with a much tighter crop. 2 works much better for me ~ Ron
