So I downloaded PS6 to try some of the new features. I think it gave me a headache. Since I already use Lightroom 4 I don't really use ACR and that interface and sliders have changed. The one downside to the update is my third party noise reduction programs won't work (they will on a PC but not a Mac). I understand Noise Ninja is working on a whole new program so I guess that may be the eventual plugin.
At any rate...here are two shots that I reprocessed but not unless using new features is there too much of a difference.
Very nice results. I thought about trying out CS6 and when I checked the forum decided to wait as there are plenty of issues and I’m working well. I do look forward to some of the new features.

It is the only noise reduction software that I’ve liked as it usually does not rob resolution or detail.

Thanks Morris. Imagenomic is my go to noise reduction program but it appears they may not be updating their program anymore. They haven't even updated their program for CS5 on the Mac so I have do open images at a lower bit level.
Updating to the new software doesn't prevent you from using a prior one...when I process the RAW image in LR4 and move to photoshop I am able to decide whether to use PS5 or 6.

I was thinking just how awesome that shot looked in the shade Eric, that is a fine shot buddy!
Topax Denoise 5 for me

Thanks so much Karl. I just downloaded a trial version of Topaz Denoise5...it is a little slow like the other Topaz filters but does do a very nice job. I think there may be some issues with CS6 though as it crashes every time I try to use it...on CS5 no issues.
Thanks for pointing the way.

Eric,Great shots.
Where was these taken?
Thanks so much. These were taken in the Okavango Delta in Botswana...more specifically I was staying at Little Vumbura camp. I think I had literally just gotten my Canon 1D3 a couple of days before I arrived and was learning the ropes with it....I was lucky that I never had an issue with mine despite all the recalls and stickers needed to get it up to snuff for many.

Couple of fine shots Eric You might want to try toning down the bg on the second one. The subject is in the shade and the bright bg pulls my eye away from it.
