I was born and grew up to 14 years old in Ft. Scott, KS, and we used to go up on Tower Hill and turn over rocks and catch these by the dozen. Only problem was that very often when you flipped a rock, you found a copperhead instead!!
We took them to school to freak out the girls...I guess today, we'd spend the next 10 years in prison if we did that. (I'm talking about the WWII era)

I turned 13 yesterday, and I love to flip rocks for reptiles, this might sound weird to some or maybe all of you but I would love to flip a Coperhead.
I am 99% sure that there has never been a reported death by a Copperhead, but were you can really run into trouble is if you are very alergic to the venum, (alot like a spider bite) you can have some bad reactions, there is also the posabilty that you will lose muscle tissue.
