Hi all!
A friend has asked me to post his question to see if any of you LR users might have a solution... I'm on a Mac so am no help to him
"My new PC has 16 gigs of RAM but only seems to be using a microscopic amount of it...

What's the actual problem?
Lightroom only uses as much memory as it needs. If there's not a problem to go along with that memory usage, there's not a problem. It's not like some applications that tear off a huge hunk and scream "MINE!" as soon as they start up.

Yup! You are lucky if LR only needs 400mbs of RAM. I have seen it use up to 4gb in my case at times. I am on a 2.7 quad i5 with 16gb of RAM.
