3 is a stunner Socrate I'm glad to see you posting some butts, I have some I was going to post the other day and now I have something to compare them to It almost looks as if the big fat bug in the last is bending the flower down Excellent work my friend.
Some guys will use any excuse to not say they went to take pictures of 'flowers'
Then again there is nothing that makes a flower look better than what a lovely butterfly does!
Why are your images in RGB instead of sRGB??
Geeez these look nice Socrate. I battled a few shots recently and wished for the likes of an IS lens to help me. It is a treat to extract the eye detailing on these guys, unique patterns on those eyes. Really fine work on bringing out the details in those hairy bodies that suck up the light like a sponge.
Could you share your EXIF info........were they all with flash?? Did you use the fixed 300 or the Canon zoom L lens?
One of my jobs in the local botanical garden is to tend the tithonia in the butterfly garden. I deadhead them every Thursday. They're also prominent in the Conservatory during the Festival of Butterflies. This is why.
When you get the checkerboard pattern this clear in a butterfly shot, you've gotten it as far as you can. Love them all -
If memory serves, this is your annual outing to a Butterfly Festival, no? I hope so - that means there will be more -

Thank you Tim. I wish I can find new butterflies to get some excitement going.
