Ok, so I finally made the transition from .jpg to RAW and picked up LR3 for $89 bucks.
I am trying to preserve my workflow as much as possible...
Previous workflow: Once I finish an edit, I just hit an "F" key that saves the file to a "favorites" folder, resizes to web, then saves the smaller file to a "web" folder.
Any way to do this in LR3?
I also use "F" keys for "auto contrast / sharpen", another for "shadow recovery", etc.
I can have 50 images open and rip thru them in a matter of minutes. I kind of hate to have to slow this down too much.
Keep in mind that these are for generic family portraits, so no real heavy editing...
Have you ever heard the expression "same same -- but different"? :-)
For your first question, in LR, you might have a collection of favorite shots. Rather than saving the raw file to a folder, you'd add it to a collection. That way, all you favorites would be available any time. Some people rank their favorites with stars. Others use color labels. There's a lot of flexibility.
To resize for the web, you'd Export the raw file. You can have presets that include the size, the amount of sharpening, a watermark, location, etc. You can also have "Publish Services" that send shots to Flickr and other sharing sites. Again, a lot of flexibility.
