My Epson 4900 printer and Versatable both arrived on time today via Fedex Freight. Shipping weight for each was about 190#...luckily, much too heavy to toss each over the fence.

As far a Fedex delivering to a house it will probably be okay, but delivering to an apartment is another story.

The shipper must add 'signature required' to the bill or they can leave it at a residence. Different rules for business delivery, at least then last time I checked. Without that you are pretty much out of luck. When shipping high value I suggest using a 3rd party insurance company.Lower cost and might be easier to collect.
