I am currenlty refreshing my gear and have a few items that I no longer need, but I have no idea what to price them at. I have looked at the Buy and Sell forum and eBay, but the prices fluctuate massively. So any help woul dbe appreciated.
I am looking to sell 3 of my lenses:
Canon 70-200 f2.8 L IS - bought in 2006. Recently full serviced and clean by Canon - sharp wide open - some minor wear and tear marks on barrel and the lens hood and a very minor mark on the front element (this is about 1 mm and does not affect iq in any way what so ever).
Canon 300 f4 LIS - bought in 2009. Recently full serviced and clean by Canon - sharp wide open and very minor wear and tear marks on barrel - This is a beautiful lens, but it looks like I will be gettnig a super tele so this lens will become redundant.
Canon 17-40 f4 L - bought in 2007. Recently full serviced and clean by Canon - sharp wide open and very minor wear and tear marks on barrel. I have gone prime for my wide so just don't use this lens any more.
check ebay completed listings - that's your best bet. Our UK prices are much higher than the US prices you see on here so don't use them as a guidance.

+1 I always search for the item on ebay, then click on "advanced search", then check the "completed listings" box to see what they have sold for in the recent past.
Also look at what various used sellers are pricing online and go slightly lower than that.
Fixation (remember their prices need vat added) , apatureuk , a small London used shop that always seem to price pretty competitive (bought a 100-400 from them that was cheaper than anything I see go on eBay) . Also mpb photographic.
You can look at the prices you see on gumtree. That's a good place to advertise as it won't cost you anything. Best to deal in person (so keep it local) on there
