The 100% crop of eye @ ISO 800 1/80s has impressive details in it. If similar IQ becomes available in 5DIII/X @ ~3k, i would seriously consider preordering a camera for the first time ever.

In the top image, it looks like has good DR too (especially if thats a JPEG straight out of camera)

Agreed, I noticed that also. While I am not going to be buying 1DX, I am sincerely hoping that 5DIII/X is not a megapixel monster but rather shares the same sensor with the 1DX w/ lower FPS. As tempting as the megapixels in D800 are, I am perfectly content with the 21 of 5DII and a lower MP for higher DR & ISO performance on the next release :-)
I don't see how it's any better than Nikon D300 or Canon 20D for the purpose described here.
I think Canon gives their cameras to wrong photographers.
I would've loved to see shots from famous sport photographers, NGO photographers and alike.
Allegedly the camera is 5-6 weeks away of being released to professional photographers with a price tag of 7,000 but they don't have any decent reviews or images that show the full potential of the camera.
If Canon does not release a 5DIII by end of April they'll lose out on a huge market share which Nikon will grab with their D800.
The images look really good. Love this guys work. I thought the high contrast lighting was a real test for this camera. More dyamic range is huge plus in my books. The detail and color in the images was impressive. And I thought the artical was well written and contained some valubale info on what it will be like to shoot with the 1Dx.
The fact that this photographer didnt want to give it back and has said that it will replace his ID4 and his 5D2 is a good sign in my books.
