I'd try to tune this a bit more.
Not sure what I am seeing on the right with the deep vertical black line and the deep circular shadow by his left eye, under his hat. Can this be opened up, line removed?
Got some halos, esp around the edge of his hat, right side of image and some along that vertical line.

This is a great capture but....the black void on the left hand side of the B/W detracts from the photo. The color version shows some details that have been lost in the translation. I would attempt to bring those details back into the mix in black and white.

Excellent portrait but i am with several of the others on the very dark "void" on the RH side of his head. Wish there was a little more detail in there.
