Well coming from a 5dII that autofocuses poorly canon has dug their own grave
The current CEO recently resigned and will step down on March 29th. His predecessor will be replacing him. I think this tells a lot about the direction Canon took.

Any original samples? These are all poorly photoshopped...
I couldn't find any original samples on his website, but there are plenty on Nikon's website. Poorly photoshop... I'd have to agree. They're not to my taste at all.
Speed and power, without compromise. That's how I'd sum up my impression of this camera. Old world, medium format image quality is now inside a phenomenal, incredibly responsive Nikon body. At 36 megapixels, the D800 produces unprecedented image quality and resolution within a body that boasts revolutionary technological advances. The 3D color matrix meter III, the improved auto focus with more cross sensors, additional dynamic range, and the improved AF performance in low light are just a few features that are glaring improvements. From a focus standpoint, I found it hard to believe there could be improvements to the D3S focus system. But, this camera does focus faster and will allow me to make pictures I couldn't make before.

I don't really like the bokeh in the first, Indian wedding image, and the first in the white dress image after it. Is that his processing? Partly due to the 640 ISO? Or is it typical of the 85 1.4?

Then I guess he just writes in the same overly-flowery prose the Japanese marketing teams do, because I'll be darned if I can tell the difference between them.

Why the sarcasm? If you actually took time to look around his website, he pretty much writes the same way as evidenced in his older blog entries.
