From where? A shop in Brooklyn? Seriously, I think I paid about $180 for my MB-D10 new. If I remember correctly, I used a 10% off coupon at Ritz when I got my D300 and grip and it all ended up costing less than a D300 (body only) without the coupon. That included shipping too.
Perhaps pricing isn't final. If it's $600+ in the U.S. and $420 from Canada, heck I'd buy it from Canada. Or if it's under $400 from HK I'd get it from there. A grip is one of those things I don't care if it's an import with a warranty, not if I save $200. I'm not so lazy I can't do a little extra leg work for $200. I'm sure B&H and others would offer direct imports as well, with their own store warranty. A $200 price difference really isn't feasible on an item like a grip.
