I believe the 1.2 is an additional shooting mode like 5:4 format

It says at 1.2 you get the faster frame rate. And DX crop is for DX lenses

What am I missing? Seems like the only big change is 36MP?

Seems odd but I actually would prefer 1.2 over DX I get the reach on the long teles without to much perfect for shooting soccer. I do wonder if the FPS will go up in DX mode as well as it would seem silly if it did not.

Will there be a AA filter on the D800E that can be disabled, or will it be void of the filter altogether?

Confirmed on Nikon USA it can only shoot upto 5 FPS but it can do it in DX or 1.2.

Exactly! 1.2x is a the perfect compromise. I'm wondering how the camera hold up for high iso. And the dynamic range should be fantastic considering its a landscape and studio cam. Though i'd only really use the full res for macro. And if a D700 with D4 sensor came out, you'd only be missing 2fps at most (the 1.2x at 5fps makes up for this) and 2stops high iso at most (i hope), since the AF should be almost the same. This is exciting.

Anyone no the difference between these detection Range and autofocus Sensitivity. On the D4 the detection range and autofocus sensitivity are equal it -2 to +19. D800 has them like this.

Detection Range -1 to 19 EV (ISO 100, 68F/20C)

Autofocus Sensitivity -2 to +19 EV (ISO 100, 20C/68F)

Price seems ok, I can wait for a while for the price to come down a bit since I am still happy with D700 and NEX-7 does things that D700 can't.

A DX crop of 1.2 is great incentive to move up to FF for me. I have been considering FF for a few months now, but the investment in glass I currently have, as of against what would be required, was too much hassle to put up with at this point. A 1.2 crop would pick me up enough right now to move upwards, and then gradually upgrade to FF glass.

Now if I had some money laying around.
