PRICE REDUCED - Nikon D3s body - Brand new, never opened
Sold
Price: $4,800.00 Payment method: PayPal Item condition: 10 Preowned equipment, but appears as new Shipping instructions: Ground, insured
I bought this as a backup body in March of 2011, from B&H, after the tsunami that hit Japan. It was supposed to be an "insurance policy" for my other D3s, which I use together with a D3x for my assignments. Time passed by, I ended up never needing to use the second body and I have two D4's already pre-ordered, so I'm selling the two D3s'. The first one to go is this one, which is still in the original B&H shipping box. Absolutely like new, never opened, never touched, and I'm asking $4,800 for it (plus the 3% Paypal tax). Ground shipping to the 48 states is on me. I'm in Weston, FL. I have been a member here since 2005, although I usually don't sell (or buy) much of my equipment. Ebay feedback is 100% too, under "ricaserpa". Thanks for checking.
Wow, for such a small town that is quite impressive! Two FMer's from around here... Well, the camera is still for grabs, hope someone will take an interest in it.
Still don't know, it will have to be after I get the D4's - hopefully sometime later this month. I just checked and it has over 270,000 clicks on it - guess I really used quite a lot... The camera is in great condition, though, and never let me down a single moment. I will do some research on the price and decide on that when it's ready to be sold.
Port Everglades? Quite a busy place with all these giant ships on the weekends, right?

The port can be busy any day or night!! you never know. The ships come and go 24/7!! I go home to Wilton Manors tom. and i will start to work on my tax return. I do not need a d3s , but NAS can pull at you !! I would better off getting another 2.8 lens or waiting for a D-400. I have the 17-35 2.8 and the 70 -200. What lenses do u use ricaserpa??

Yes, I imagine that port is busy 24/7... I use a lot of different lenses, it all depends on what and where I'm shooting. Primes whenever I can, always the 1.4 ones (24, 35, 50, 85), a 300/2.8 for sports, and the usual suspects for zooms: 14-24. 24-70 and 70-200. Also on the bag are a 16/2.8 that almost never sees any action, and a 105 Micro. For travelling light, a 24-120. It's quite a bunch of lenses, but these are investments you make one time only, so no regrets at all!

That photo was taken with the D3x and a 24-70, using an Aquatech housing. It's a nice setup, and having 24 MB in the water is a dream come true... If you like surfing photos, here are a couple of links of Indonesia and Fiji:

I just want to comment on your surf shots. HOLYYYY CRAPPPP!!!! You certainly KNOW your craft. I've taken some surf shots, but never got those kinds of results. I can also see why you've been so successful. You, in addition to being an accomplished surfer, know just when and where to aim that big Aquatech housing to get just the perfect shot.

Carl, James, thanks so much for the kind words! I've found out that I have (almost) as much fun photographing surf as I do surfing... It is challenging for sure, and even a little dangerous every now and then, but getting a good shot makes it all worth the log hours in the water and the missed waves (can't shoot AND surf at the same time, at least not without doing a poor job in both activities...).
It does take sometime to get used to it, but once you do, it's guaranteed fun!
All my best to you guys, and keep up with the great work!
