Why does it matter if a lens is now the chokepoint? Did you / do you throw your cameras or film out if the lens outresolved the sensor?

One main draw for the D700 is that it's D3-lite once you add the grip. There is no such body going forward with the D800 - it's more of a D4X lite with the frame rate.
