I'm selling my 1DsmkII to buy a 5DmkII. I am the second owner of this camera. I bought it from a wedding photographer on POTN back in December of 2008. As you can see in the pics it looks very well used on the outside. I shoot aviation and motorsports, so my cameras are always outside. On the inside the camera is near mint. It just got back from my CPS free clean and check. I will include the paper that says everything checks out. 1Dcount shows 35,191 clicks. This is accurate. Very low amount of mileage on this camera. When I bought the camera it came with no paperwork, so I do not have the manual or box. Included are 4 batteries. 2 original Canon's, and 2 aftermarket. All hold a charge fine, but as you all know, battery life on these camera's was not it big selling point. That's why I always carried 4!! The DC coupler is included, the battery charger, and since I do not like the feel of the CPS strap, a new CPS strap is also included. I just took a photo of the sky to check the sensor, and a couple of specks are still there, even after the Canon service. This is not unusual for this camera. I can e-mail the RAW file of the sky, and a RAW file from the last action the camera saw at Petit Le Mans if anybody needs to look.
When using PayPal, if they hold funds, I will not ship the camera until the money is sitting in my bank account, no exceptions. Buyer also will have to pay the PayPal fees, unless you use the "Gift" option. CONT US only!!
Price reduced to $1600. I will not go any lower. If I can't get this, I'm keeping it.
if it wasn't for that small and low res display...I would be all over this! But I got used to the hi res lcd on 5d2 and going back here I know would be a pain.
But focusing is ages ahead of 5d2!

I really wish I wasn't in a "no-buy" zone right now!!! This is an amazing package!!! I'd have to say, the 1DsII was my favorite of all the camera's I've used to date...
There's no doubt in anyone's mind that the 1Ds II is a great camera and will remain at the top of the heap of choices for some time to come. It does, however, use an ancient LCD and overall ergonomic design that some will put ahead of image quality. 'Tis a shame, because those things tend to not matter very much after a few sessions with the camera and seeing the consistency of the results. I use the LCD for histogram-view only; and for that it's just fine.
I'm going to guess that, within the narrower ISO range of the 1Ds II (max 3200) not even the newer 1Dx will produce an IQ better than the 1Ds II. But the overall handling and feature of the 1Dx set are definitely in another world compared to the 1Ds II, not to mention its incorporating a high frame rate for sports shooters. As far as the 5D Mark II goes, been there ... done that. I sold mine in favor of keeping the 1Ds II. (But let's not get into my opinion of the 5D II; stirs up too much controversy.)
Even the 1Dx will, at some point, appear "ancient" compared to whatever else comes up over the next two to three years.
Be patient. Even with an 8 condition, $1,600 is a great price for a 1Ds II package with a low shutter count. Someone will come along who recognizes and appreciates what that $1,600 is buying.

I sure miss my 1ds2... with the 1ds2, one thing I learned, was that you don't need the screen because the focus is always on. It's not a matter of did it hit or not like it is on the 5d2.

I hope this isn't still here this weekend. . .
I'm very tempted as it is...
31k is nothing. . .
I still have your old 1Ds II that you sold me several years ago. It's a beautiful rig.
Pending deal is not going to happen. Camera is still for sale, and it still is $1600. I have two other inquiries, but the first person who gets me the money will get it.
