Quite often I use a bird, any bird, only as a peg onto which to hang focus, for it is the environment colours which really warm up my old soul.

That approach seem to work out really well. Especially in the first and last two.

You see, Don....that is probably your problem right there.....you are working which ought to be an impediment to your photography hobby.
In my case, I am in a standby mode 7 days a week.....the Sun comes out, so do I, and in a few minutes I am in one of my shooting theatres.

Ron, you have a valid point. However, if I didn't have a bird/animal prop in the image, then I'd have to start posting in the landscape forum.
