Nuts to the camera bodies, get the lens  . I was a longtime advocate of the 85 1.8 over the 1.2 (I never shot a lot with the 1.2). Great little lens and pretty sharp wide open....until I got the 1.2L. Yikes, razor sharp at 1.2 and 1.4. There is really nothing like it. Focus is not that slow unless you are going from one extreme to the other. Just touch of prefocus will allow it to snap into place. Let us know how you like the 50.
