A question for you all I have bothe the 300 2.8 and the (ver II) 400 f/2.8 NON IS lens' Been kind of thinking about selling both and getting the 300 2.8 IS, I can easily hand hold both (not at the same time) I shoot a lot of youth sports and do this all day (8am first game until sometimes 9pm last game) and I am not getting bad images or anything like that ... just wondering what the general consensus was concerning IQ of newer Vs older?
It is just about "usability." 300 2.8 IS I is easier to just take out and shoot at lower ISO. 300 2.8 IS II is easier than I. That is the main justification for the newer ones. I don't think you will see amazing difference in IQ considering the price difference. You also shave off 300g- which maybe nice!
